Driving Sustainability at the Waterford Viking Marathon
At the Waterford Viking Marathon, we are committed to reducing waste and improving the environmental footprint of our event. As the marathon continues to grow, it’s increasingly important for us to make choices that are better for both our participants and our planet.
Following valuable feedback from runners, we have decided not to include a traditional goodie bag this year. Don’t worry though, the items you would normally receive will still be available for you to collect at the finish line if you would like them.
Participants will still receive our amazing Waterford Viking Marathon medal and event T-shirt as part of their race experience, ensuring the sense of achievement and celebration at the finish line remains just as special.
This small change helps us cut down on unnecessary waste while still ensuring participants can enjoy the items they value most. It’s just one of the steps we are taking as we continue working towards a more sustainable Waterford Viking Marathon. 🌍🏃
