About Viking Marathon Festival
The Waterford Viking Marathon returns for its 13th year, with an even bigger variety of events.
Saturday 21st of June and Sunday 22nd June 2025 at 9am
On Saturday the 21st of June at Waterford Regional Sports Centre at 9.30am The Waterford Viking Marathon will host it’s first ever Children’s Run, with four distances available, 200m, 500m, 1km and 2.5km.
On the 22nd of June, along with the Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k we also have the first Disability Friendly Run.
Offering a race experience unlike any other, set in the heart of Ireland’s oldest city, founded by the Vikings over 1,100 years ago. The starting line for the full marathon, half marathon and 10k is on The Mall, kick off is at 9am. And the finish line is located on O’Connell Street, just a 10 minute walk away from the starting line.
The Disability Friendly Run starts and finishes on Grattan Quay. Starting time 9.30am.
Bag drop off will available near the starting line for those that need a bag to be stored. Please keep in mind we can not be responsible for any valuables. Collection of items will be available then close to the finish.
