Waterford Viking Marathon today launched the 2021 Virtual running event. The event will take place from Thursday June 24th to 27th.
Runners from all over the county and beyond are invited to choose their goal for this coming June with Full, Half and Quarter Marathon options. Participants will complete their event over the Virtual Marathon Weekend which runs from Thursday June 24th to 27th.
When registering participants will have the option to raise funds for a charity of their choice, be it one close to their heart or perhaps a local community group they are part of.

Event Manager Cormac Johnston said ‘We are very excited to launch the first ever WVM Virtual Marathon today. Our hope is to encourage our fantastic past supporters to set and keep their running goals for this year and perhaps ignite the spark in many others around the world to join us between now and then. Along the way we hope to provide charities with an event that they can harness for their fundraising efforts. Our participants, who are missing live running events, will be able to support the charitable causes close to their hearts, as well as meeting their personal fitness goals. We are calling on the Waterford Diaspora worldwide to take this unique opportunity to run their Waterford Viking marathon.”
